Are you an experienced outdoor leader with a passion for making the wilderness accessible and transformative for youth? Julie’s Dream is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven Director of Outdoor Programs to lead unforgettable outdoor adventures for children and teens from under-resourced communities in Atlanta.
Through hiking, rafting, camping, backpacking, rock climbing, and more, Julie’s Dream gives kids the chance to connect with nature, grow in confidence and in their faith, and experience the joy of the great outdoors, often for the very first time.
What You’ll Do:
As Director, you’ll be the architect and leader of all outdoor programming. From weekend campouts to week-long treks in the Rockies, you’ll design and lead inspiring experiences, hire and train seasonal staff, and build strong partnerships with Atlanta-based youth organizations. You’ll oversee logistics, safety, gear, and staffing while ensuring each adventure is meaningful, inclusive, and empowering.
This Role Is Perfect If You…
✅ Have a strong background in outdoor education or youth adventure programming
✅ Can confidently lead hikes, backpacking trips, canoe outings, and overnight camping trips
✅ Love planning adventures, packing gear, managing risk, and leading teams
✅ Want to help kids build resilience, leadership, and a love for the outdoors
✅ Have (or are willing to get) CPR, WFA, and lifeguard certification
